First off, welcome to the blog! I’m so excited for this journey and I wanted to tell you a little about myself and why I started Epic Elopement. Over six years ago I got engaged to my husband And we began to start thinking about planning a wedding. At the time I owned a wedding planning company in Las Vegas and had so many ideas of how I envisioned my wedding day. We started putting together a guest list and figuring out costs and something just didn’t seem right. At the time we were in the middle of trying to save for a house and just really couldn’t imagine going into debt over our wedding. Growing up my parents had always instilled in me how important making memories and spending money on experiences were far more important than any sort of material stuff. I was lucky enough as a child go on some amazing vacations with my parents and we did a lot of traveling. I guess you could say I caught the travel bug because nothing makes me happier than being in a new place and exploring somewhere I have never seen before. When my husband and I were talking about priorities as far as the wedding planning went both of us agreed that having a kick ass honeymoon was super important to us. Ultimately we decided to ditch the big wedding plans and have an intimate ceremony in Mexico with our closest family and friends. Having a small wedding is something I will never regret But there were a few things I wish I could’ve changed.
I got married at a hotel on the beach and decided to use the hotels in-house photographer. I looked at his portfolio and even met with him in person and at the time it seemed like a good fit . After the wedding when I got my wedding photos back I was literally in tears. In Half of the photos peoples eyes were closed , The lighting was harsh, and the editing was honestly awful. At that moment I thought to myself I never wanted anyone to feel this way after receiving their wedding photos ever again.
I started a Elopement Las Vegas about three years ago as a passion project and underestimated how many other couples had the same idea as my husband and I and wanted to either elope or have an intimate wedding ceremony. These were couples that didn’t want to go into debt over their wedding And wanted to save money to do other things like buy a house, invest money into their future, and travel the world. Although Vegas is known for Elvis and chapel weddings I wanted to give couples options outside of the traditional “ vegas wedding “. I looked into getting permits at all of the state parks around Vegas and started offering Elopement ceremony’s in really epic locations outside of the city. I started reaching out to experienced photographers as well as other vendors that had been vetted and did not just pop up a month ago and pick up a camera , start an Instagram and call themselves a wedding photographer. I wanted to be proud of the work my company produced and not just be some cookie cutter company with cheap prices .
After couples started reaching out to me and asking if I offered elopement packages in any other locations I decided to expand to other cities across the country in order to serve my couples in other markets.
I have personally traveled to every single location that we offer here at epic elopement. I have sat down and vetted every single vendor We partner with. The fact that you decided to entrust us with the biggest day of your life is not something that I take lightly or take for granted . I want every single one of our couples to feel special and cared for throughout the elopement planning process .
I hope you are just as excited about this journey as I am, I can’t wait to make your wedding day EPIC!
