About Epic Elopement
Hey guys, I’m Emily! I started out in the wedding industry about seven years ago and started out planning large scale weddings. Instead of telling you all of my incredible accolades, I thought it would be more appropriate to tell you the WHY behind Epic Elopement. I got married 6 years ago and ultimately decided on a small wedding in Mexico. My husband and I love to travel and wanted to go on a bad ass honeymoon. We were also saving to buy a house at the time. Both of us didn’t have a ton of money to blow on a huge wedding and did not want to go into debt just to cover a wedding for our friends and family to celebrate one day with us. Having an intimate wedding was the best decision we could have ever made, but there were things on my wedding day I was not happy with and I never wanted anyone else to feel the same way on the biggest day of their life.
A Bit More About Emily’s Story
First off, I HATED my photos. In fact, when I got my photos back, there were tears… lots of them. I was heartbroken knowing I could never get those moments back and I never wanted anyone to feel the same way. Epic Elopement only works with experienced, true professional photographers that have been vetted and provide amazing work. There are many companies that use inexperienced photographers and this is why their pricing is seemingly such a great deal. I wanted to invest in true professionals so that our clients will always LOVE their wedding photography.
After getting married on the beach with a close group of family and friends in Mexico I couldn’t help but start thinking about the fact that there had to be more people out there like me. Sure… there are stunning churches and ballrooms to hold weddings in but there was something so freeing and peaceful about being barefoot walking down the aisle on the sand, holding hands with the person I love. Maybe we never got to wear that sparkly ball gown and black tuxedo with a bowtie …but you know what? I don’t think we missed out on anything…
I have never heard a couple tell me that they have had regrets over choosing an intimate wedding vs a large scale wedding. If anything, I hear the opposite. People who stress over a big wedding with all the fuss and go into debt will tell me after, “I wish we would’ve just eloped.” I am so incredibly passionate about this concept and want people to feel special, even at their “intimate” wedding.
